What customers say?

“ Great food at a very reasonable price. Fast friendly service. ”

“ From the moment I walked in, the staff at Wigmore Fish Bar made me feel welcome, and their friendly service set the tone for a fantastic meal. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection — the batter was beautifully golden and crisp, the fish flaky and tender beneath it. The portion size was generous, and everything arrived piping hot. The sides and extras were just as impressive: the mushy peas were wonderfully rustic, the chips were the kind you crave—thick-cut and hearty—and the tartar sauce had the right balance of tang and creaminess. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the shop and the efficient service, even during a busy evening. Whether you’re grabbing a takeaway for a casual night in or visiting for a sit-down meal, I highly recommend Wigmore Fish Bar. It’s clear they care about quality and customer experience. I’ll definitely be back ”

“ Staff are absolutely lovely and wonderful. Only ever had chips, always been nice! Think they could maybe do with more time to make them crispier but other than that - fair play. ”

“ Always a great service and really fresh food. This time I had the haddock and my partner had a salary, we shared a portion of chips as the portions seem to be designed for bigger appetites than ours. Good variety of food, never have to wait long even when busy. ”

“ My partner stopped to get us some chips, being Vegetarian we didn't think they're would be anything else available. He suprised me with a delicious Vegan chicken & mushroom Pukka pie and the best tasting chips we've had in a very long time. The owner was very nice and polite and had a wide variety of Vegan friendly food on his menu. My partner saved the wrapper as he knew I wouldn't belive it was Vegan and not chicken. ”

“ Really good gluten free options! Phoned ahead and staff confirmed the gluten free options are cooked in a separate fryer and they use separate utensils to avoid cross contamination. They also confirmed they had gluten free condiments available which gave us confidence they were well trained as many don't realise malt vinegar isn't safe for those with a gluten intolerance. Called ahead with our order, was informed it would be ready for collection in 20 minutes and sure enough on my arrival they bought the order over whilst I was paying. The service was top notch! The food was well labelled so we knew exactly which items were gluten free, it was all piping hot with nice crispy batter. The portions were also much bigger than we had anticipated! We had a family portion of gluten free chips which was more than enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, 3 of us had a medium portion of fish which was hanging off the plate so more like a large and 1 had a jumbo battered sausage which again was big with lovely crispy batter. We're delighted to have finally found a decent chippy with good gluten free options! ”

“ After an eight-hour drive from Cheshire, I had built up quite an appetite, so it was straight out to Wigmore Fish Bar. On entering the shop, it was clear to see it was well managed and surprisingly spacious. Plenty of lovely young staff were working hard and smiling, which is always a good sign, and they were polite and helpful. I ordered the rock, or rock salmon as it is also known; I species of small shark. The batter was thick and crispy, while the fish itself is something of an acquired taste, though very meaty. The haddock, on the other hand, was fresh and delicious in a nice light batter, and the chips were something quite special. The mushy peas were thick and tasty, and the curry sauce was decent enough. The manager at Wigmore's suggested we park in the pub car park across the road, as the pub would be fine with it, but the pub landlady came out and explained that many people had been doing the same and they were not too happy about it, so we apologised and then called in for a drink. ???? Cooking in: Oil ???? Payment: Cash or Card ???? Hygiene Rating: 5 ???? Fish Reviewed: Rock Salmon and Haddock See the full video review on The Chippy Tour YouTube channel ”

“ I’ve tried this place 2 times when I visit my friend and get takeaway for us. Food was very tasty and cooked fresh. Haddock and Chips both times and it’s been very nice indeed. Staff were happy and polite. I Recommend the Haddock and Chips as that’s all I’ve tried, so far. ”
